At Haus of Heat, every material is chosen with intention. We work with woods, stones, and metals that have been selected for how they age, how they perform under extremes, and how they deepen in character with use. Each element is shaped by the contrast our products are built around: heat and cold, weight and light, presence and quiet.
North American Walnut
Valued for its dark chocolate hue and bold grain, the North American walnut brings a sense of warmth and quiet sophistication to our exterior builds. Long favored in fine architectural interiors and heritage cabinetry, it is dense, dimensionally stable, and naturally resistant to warping. Over time, walnut deepens in tone and develops a soft patina, a material that doesn't just endure, but improves with the years.
African Ayous
Red Cedar
Recognized for its rich color and distinct natural scent, red cedar offers superior insulation and natural antibacterial properties, qualities that have made it a staple in sauna construction for generations. Aromatic, durable, and visually warm, cedar is a material that performs as beautifully as it looks, aging into deeper, richer tones with each cycle of heat and time.
Canadian Hemlock
Siberian White Pine
Light, natural, and serene, Siberian white pine carries a soft tone and organic knots that bring a feeling of raw tranquility to a space. Excellent at diffusing heat evenly, it is a wood long associated with the Scandinavian sauna tradition, clean and unembellished. A foundational material for builds that lean toward minimalism.
Ultra-white Tempered Glass
Ultra-white tempered glass brings light and openness to our builds without the green tint of standard glass. Its iron-free clarity reveals wood and stone exactly as intended, while its tempered strength withstands the thermal stress of sauna and steam environments.
Soapstone
Used in sauna construction for centuries, soapstone absorbs, retains, and slowly releases heat. Dense and non-porous, it softens the warmth into a gentle, enveloping climate that lasts long after the heater cycles down.
Steel
Selected for its strength and proven performance under repeated thermal cycles, steel forms the structural foundation of our heating systems and select architectural details, built to last as long as the sauna itself.
